The ‘Bioinformatics Meets Machine Learning’ workshop aims to bring together biologists, computer scientists and mathematicians to discuss recent developments in machine learning for bioinformatics, medical applications and beyond. A key focus will be on interpretable models and ways of deriving domain knowledge from them when applied to bioinformatics applications.

MiWoCI continues the tradition of showcasing the latest trends and developments in the field of machine learning for data analysis and visualisation, with a focus (though not exclusively) on prototype-based models such as the Learning Vector Quantisation method or Self-Organising Maps.

The workshop focuses on new theoretical models and solutions to problems, as well as interesting applications, for example in bioinformatics, forensics, medicine or in automotive assistance systems. Topics may include issues such as handling large amounts of data and transfer learning.  A key feature of MiWoCI is to encourage young researchers to present their findings and discuss them with fellow young scientists as well as with experienced researchers in the field.

SICIM invites staff and students at the university to take part in a challenging machine learning competition. Put your skills to the test, discover new approaches and exchange ideas with others interested in machine learning.

The AI Summer School combines lectures with practical sessions, thereby enabling a thorough and in-depth exploration of current developments and applications in artificial intelligence, in close collaboration with experts from industry and research.
