International Workshop Bioinformatic meets Machine Learning
The Bioinformatics Meets Machine Learning - Workshop will bring together biologists, computer scientists and mathematicians to discuss recent developments in machine learning for bioinformatics, medical applications and beyond. A major focus will be on interpretable models and ways to derive domain knowledge from them when applied to bioinformatics applications.
MiWoCI follows the tradition of presenting the latest trends and developments in the field of machine learning for data analysis and visualization, with a focus (but not exclusively) on prototype-based models such as the Learning Vector Quantization method or Self-Organizing Maps.
The workshop focuses on new theoretical models and problem solutions as well as interesting applications, for example in bioinformatics, forensics, medicine or in automotive assistance systems. Topics could include problems such as handling large amounts of data and transfer learning. A special aspect of MiWoCI is to encourage young researchers to present their results and to discuss them with other young scientists as well as with experienced researchers from the field.

Die KI-Sommerschule kombiniert Vorlesungen mit praxisorientierten Formaten und ermöglicht so eine fundierte und vertiefte Auseinandersetzung mit aktuellen Entwicklungen und Anwendungen der künstlichen Intelligenz in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Expertinnen und Experten aus Industrie und Forschung.
